Information and Resources for
Clinicians
Your patients need more than a BMI conversation or even a GLP-1. NAMIO partners with you to provide them the foundational family-based lifestyle treatment for pediatric obesity.
NAMIO is a virtual family-based intensive health behavior and lifestyle program your patients qualify for under the 2023 AAP Clinical Practice Guidelines, available in all 50 states, delivered to their home.
Built by pediatricians.
Backed by science.
NAMIO is a virtual healthy weight program that offers families a science-backed curriculum; personalized and group health coaching; live and on-demand workshops, workouts and cooking classes; and an online community, accessed through the NAMIO app. NAMIO meets the AAP's IHBLT criteria, including offering at least 26 hours of engagement over 6-12 months. NAMIO helps families improve health and well being in 5 key areas:
nutrition
physical activity
sleep
social connection
mindfulness
NAMIO was developed by Dr. Natalie Muth, a board-certified pediatrician, registered dietitian, and obesity medicine specialist.
Who to refer
NAMIO is a strong fit for any patient and family where weight is affecting health or wellbeing and who would benefit from structured, expert-guided lifestyle support.
Consider referring when:
-
BMI ≥85th percentile with at least one weight-related comorbidity
-
BMI ≥95th percentile, with or without comorbidities
-
Patient is taking prescribed obesity medication (Wegovy, Saxenda, Qsymia) and needs structured lifestyle support
-
Family has motivation to engage but lacks access to in-person intensive treatment
-
Previous counseling at well visits hasn't moved the needle

NAMIO meets American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for Intensive Health Behavior Lifestyle Treatment (IHBLT).
Prescribing obesity medication? NAMIO is built for co-management.
Medication without lifestyle intervention produces weaker and less durable outcomes. NAMIO serves as the lifestyle and behavior change support for your patients on GLP-1s, handling the nutrition counseling, activity coaching, and family behavior change work so you can focus on the medical management. We share progress updates with your practice and follow a clear escalation protocol when clinical review is needed.
